Meanwhile, at Jewschool

I’ll let Jewschool speak for itself:

“The most important thing happening online in the Jewish community
today.” –Noted Jewish sociologists Ari Kelman & Steven M. Cohen

Rated “the third most influential faith blog” by The Times of London

Jewschool is the web’s leading source for alternative Jewish views and
culture. Winner of eight Jewish & Israeli Blog Awards, Jewschool has
been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post,
The New York Post, Gothamist, and countless Jewish publications for
its coverage of the cutting edge of Jewish community today.

And now I’m a contributor for Jewschool. It gives me a real sense of vindication. Many of the people that write for Jewschool are friends or associates of mine, people I look up to and respect. And so I’m proud to add my name to the list of Jewschool contributors.

My first post is up at Jewschool now.

  1. Congrats, you deserve it. There are a lot of people that also look up to and respect you too.

  2. The glory days of Jewschool are long over – it started with the evisceration a few years back of many of its most interesting writers and was exacerbated by its abandonment by its creator Dan Sieradski. Hardly anyone would call Jewschool influential anymore now that it’s a sort of monolithic entity, but hopefully that will change with the entry of some new blood. I haven’t been on Jewschool in ages, but I am willing to give it another chance, especially now that Jewcy seems to be quickly falling apart.

  3. Well, thanks for your input, misha. I have only a year or so of Jewschool reading to go on, so I don’t know how to agree or disagree with you.

I don’t know about evisceration of interesting writers, but I don’t think it was quite abandoned by Dan. He is man of many projects and he spins some off from time to time to move on to new ventures.

Please do give it another chance. I quite like it. And I give a big flying whatever for Jewcy. Good riddance.
